I know it has been awhile since I updated, but things have been busy around here. I just want to let all of you that are supporting me know that I met my first weight loss goal! I lost 10 pounds by February 7th, and I feel great! Everyone says they can tell a difference in my face, but I can't. I was told that I look at myself every day, so I probably won't notice a difference for awhile.
I have not made a new goal yet, but it's going to be hard. Our financial situation isn't great, and a lot of times we rely on eating from the restaurant my husband works at. I know it's not healthy, but sometimes it is our only option. I am currently looking into a second job, so maybe that will help us out.
Thank you all for caring, supporting, and following me in this journey! I really need all the support I can get!

Weight Loss Update
I'm not really sure what day I am on, but my dieting has been tough. I've had a hard time keeping myself from eating everything in sight. I have kept myself from it, but it has been hard. Recently I went to visit my family in Oklahoma and I thought I was going to have a really hard time, but thankfully my parents are dieting too! I didn't gain any weight while I was there, but I didn't lose any either.
There are days that I just want to give up and say, "Forget it. I'll just be fat forever." And then there are days I realize that giving up is not an option. I will do this, and I will be healthy!
Last night I bought food to start the Special K Challenge. I started it today, and so far it's been okay. I can actually eat on this diet! I got tired of the SlimFast not mixing with the milk, and I like to chew my food, not drink it. The Special K Challenge has a plan for everyone. They have a Chocolate Lover's one that I am doing. Yay for eating chocolate on a diet! :)
I think the reason I haven't lost anymore weight is because I've been stressed. Hopefully things change soon so I can be back on my way to meeting my short term goal! I am going to be starting Zumba soon, so I will be getting a lot of exercise in and hopefully that will jump start the weight loss.
Short Term Goal: Lose 10 pounds by February 7th
Starting Weight: 276 pounds
Weight Today: 269 (1 pound lost since last blog post!) EDIT: 2 pounds lost since last blog post!!!!!!

Day 8
I still have not cheated on my diet, but I am finding it very hard not to eat everything in sight. I've noticed that I am a bored/stressed eater. I got so bored the other day that I had to get up and walk around the house because I was so tempted to eat anything I could get my hands on. That makes me feel awful.
I started using the Slim Fast powder, and I do like it a lot better than the pre-mixed. It isn't chalky and it tastes like chocolate milk! Sort of. Whoever made it must not have ever tried to make chocolate milk with cocoa when they were young. (Yes, I've tried it! It DOES NOT mix together with the milk.) The second ingredient in my mix is cocoa, and it doesn't mix well at all. I think the next day I am off work I will use my blender to see if it will mix it better.
I'm seriously considering switching to the Special K Challenge once I run out of Slim Fast powder, which is in about 3 weeks. With the Special K Challenge, I will be able to eat more, and not drink my meals.
On Saturday, I am going to visit my family, and I will be there until Tuesday. I'm really nervous about overeating or eating things that aren't good for me. I will conquer it though! My Nanny has already asked me if I want Blue & Gold chicken (which she deep fat fries) for dinner one night, and I reminded her that I was on a diet. She said she is going to make a special cake that I will be able to eat, but I know it won't compare to her one bowl chocolate cake!
I've found myself having a bit of a hard time sticking to the diet, and I don't really have anyone to push me. There is some good news though, my caffeine withdrawal headache is almost gone! Who knew it would last this long?!
Thank you again for reading this. It means a lot to me.

Weight: 271 (STILL! Only 5 pounds gone.)

Today is Day 5!
The days are getting easier now. I just wish the headache I have had for 5 days now would go away! I am self-diagnosing it as a caffeine withdrawal headache. :) I have NOT cheated in my diet, and that is a big accomplishment for me. It is no secret that I have a love for chocolate, and there are some miniature candy bars a few feet away from me. I can hear them calling my name, but I choose to ignore them! :) I AM stronger than that!
I haven't really been tempted with anything, except Dr Pepper. I know it will get rid of this headache, but I can't go back to drinking it. There have been times where I find myself not hungry when it is time for a snack, but I have it spaced out to where there is an even amount of time between each time I eat, so I go ahead and eat it. There are also times that I will start eating and my stomach growls even more than it did before I ate. I know my stomach is still getting used to the lesser amount of food I am eating.
Tonight is my first night home while dieting (I babysit Wednesdays-Saturdays from 3:30pm until around 5am), and I am a little nervous to eat something other than a TV dinner. I am afraid I will over eat and screw up my diet. I am going to eat a salad with veggies and Fat Free dressing, and it bothers me that I won't be able to see how many calories are in it. My cousin told me that lettuce and other veggies turn to water and that they are "free" calories, and that I can eat as much as I want. I look forward to it, but I don't want to over-do it.
Thank you again for reading this and if you have any input, please don't hesitate to let me know! I need all the help I can get!
Short Term Goal: Lose 10 pounds by February 7th.
Weight: 271 (5 pounds GONE!) I weigh myself every morning when I wake up.

Starving
Day 1 proved to be much harder than I ever imagined. All I could think about was food and I thought about it all day long. When I was distracted, I didn't notice my stomach growling. I can't believe the control that food has over me.
I had a shake for breakfast, Quaker Mini Delights for a snack (which was like eating chocolate flavored air), shake for lunch, yogurt for a snack, a Lean Cuisine for dinner, and another yogurt for a snack. I also had water. I found myself checking the clock every few minutes to see if it was time for my next bit of food. Is that bad? I stopped drinking pop cold turkey, and my caffeine headache hit at 2am on day 1. Thank goodness for Ibuprofen!
Day 2 was much easier than the first. I didn't find myself as obsessed with the time as I was on day 1. Don't get me wrong, I am STILL hungry but it's bearable. I babysit during the night, so I took my food with me. I honestly felt like a pig when I put my shake, 2 yogurts, and Lean Cuisine in the ice box. I have no idea why I felt this way, but it seemed like I had a bunch of food. However, it did not feel that way when I was eating it!
I really don't think I could follow through with this without the support of friends and family and I want to thank each of you who are reading this.
Short Term Goal: Lose 10 pounds by my birthday.
Weight: 276 pounds (per my scale this morning)

Weight Loss Journey
I believe I have found what this blog will be about, but I am not sure if I am going to share it just yet.
Today I started the "Slim Fast Diet", which should be called the Starve to Death Diet. For a hefty girl like me, I don't miss many meals. My husband and I have been eating pizza products most nights for dinner and sometimes during lunch too. I know that is unhealthy, but sometimes it is our only option.
Last night my husband and I went to a movie, out to eat, and then to buy my diet supplies. At the movie, I had a lot of popcorn, some pieces of chocolate, and a pop. we ate at Golden Corral, so I ate way more than I should have. I honestly felt like a prisoner eating their last meal, and sadly, it wasn't that great.
Diabetes, cancer, and depression, among others runs in my family and I realized I needed to do something about my weight. Curtis and I have also been trying for almost 3 years to have a child, and I keep thinking that maybe if I lose weight it will help my chances of getting pregnant. I want a child more than anything I have ever wanted in my life.
I have printed out a menu/calendar that will help me stay on track. I am allowed 1 Shake for breakfast, a snack, 1 Shake for lunch, another snack, and then a healthy 500 calorie dinner. Because I am gone 4 nights of the week babysitting, I purchased a few lean T.V. dinners that are all 330 calories or less. I also got yogurt and 100 calorie Quaker chocolate crisps for snacks. I'm so glad I found chocolate, because I am addicted.
The first Shake wasn't too bad, but I can't wait until my powder form comes in from Amazon.com. I'm hoping it won't be as chalky and chewy. This is going to be extremely hard to stick to because in reality, I love food.
Each time I blog, I will post my Short Term Goal and my current weight.
Short Term Goal: Lose 10 pounds by my birthday, February 7th.
Current Weight: Between 280 and 300 pounds. (I will be getting my scale back in a couple of days to give an exact weight.)
